Two plans with the same square footage can live very differently. Before choosing, test the mudroom, laundry, pantry, mechanical room, storage, furniture walls and circulation paths. Confirm that the great room is not oversized at the expense of everyday functions.
On a rural property, the garage and main entry should relate to the driveway and weather. On a view site, large windows should serve the best orientation without creating difficult furniture placement. If a walkout lower level is planned, stairs and plumbing should be coordinated from the beginning.
